§ ¶Getting serious about the renewal of the St. Paul’s by playing games.

Terry Lavender one of the contributing members of the Coalition a few years ago developed a computer based game called “St. Paul’s invader” as a fun way to bring some media attention to the issue of the urgent need to renew the St. Paul’s Hospital.
Here is a brief description of the game by Terry:
“St. Paul’s Invaders” was the result - a shameless rip-off of the classic Space Invaders arcade game, but with a pacifist and locally relevant twist. Instead of firing bullets at invading aliens, you’re firing petition signatures at a horde of public relations hacks and lawyers as they make their way down to destroy the hospital. The petition motif was used because our goal at the time was to get thousands of signatures on a petition to present to the provincial government urging them not to move the hospital, the game motif seemed appropriate. There was a link from the game to the online petition.”
